Jim Pritchard is the owner and driving force behind Straight Line Services (SLS), a trusted provider of professional patent drawings since 1991. With over 33 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering drafting, Jim has cultivated a reputation for precision, reliability, and exceptional client service.

Jim began his career as a machinist at K-Mol Engineering, where he gained hands-on experience with mechanical systems. He later transitioned to roles as a Mechanical CAD Designer, contracting for major defense and technology companies. This foundation of technical expertise, combined with strong visualization and communication skills, allows Jim to quickly grasp complex concepts and efficiently deliver high-quality results.

Under Jim’s leadership, Straight Line Services has become a leading name in the patent illustration industry. Utilizing advanced tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and design software like Photoshop and Visio, Jim and his team produce utility, design, chemical, and trademark drawings that adhere to USPTO and international standards. Known for a predictable, on-time performance at a reasonable price, SLS continues to serve inventors, attorneys, and businesses with unwavering dedication.

When he is not hard at work, Jim enjoys spending time with his family at their family home - or anywhere else in the world. As an avid adventurist you'll find him running marathons, snowboarding, downhill mountain biking, hiking, or riding his motorcycle.
